Micro-franchise Model
Coast Coconut Farms has teamed up with engineers at Brigham Young University to design a small scale coconut oil micro-franchise business. The goal is to develop a profitable, sustainable business that we can get out to the rural areas of Kenya where there are few jobs. This micro-franchise model will cost between $200 - $300 dollars and will provide the equipment and training to make virgin coconut oil.
We have joined with Yehu Microfinance to provide loans to those wanting to start a micro-franchise. We will encourage them to sell half of what they make locally and the other half will be sold to Basa Body for use in cosmetics. If done correctly, this model will give owners the potential of making 5-7 times their current income.
